Why Donate to the MPI Foundation?
Here's why.

Samme Allen

MPI Netherlands Chapter

Hi, my name is Samme Allen and I am MPI.

How often do you ask for a helping hand? It’s often very easy to speak to friends or family to reach out when times are difficult, but where do you go professionally, when times are hard during business?

I want to tell you a story. Many years back now, I was made redundant. I was in a difficult situation where I didn’t know what to do next. And I knew how important networking, speaking to people in my tribe and my community would be in order to understand what my opportunities would be. However, with limited financial income and no knowledge of when I was going to get an income, this was a little bit of challenge for me. My MPI membership was running out and I didn’t know what to do.

I don’t know if you have heard of the MPI Foundation. I certainly had heard of it, but I didn’t know what it was, what it meant to me, and whether it was in Europe. I asked some good connections within MPI to find out that actually, not only is it in Europe, the Foundation actually helps a huge number of Europeans, not just people in North America.

“The program had enriching education, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and global connections.

I reached out to the MPI Foundation and they paid for my membership, no questions asked. This helped me to network, to continue to get my education, and then get the job that led to where I am now.

Why am I telling you this?  It’s really important to understand that there are communities out there, there are chapter members, there are big organizations, destinations, all putting cash into the MPI Foundation to help people who are challenged during certain times in their career, whether it’s at the beginning, whether it’s at the middle, like me, when you’ve been physically challenged due to a redundancy, or  whether it’s a grant to attend a conference because you know that’s  going to help your education.  The foundation exists to help people like you and me. And it’s time that we talked a little bit more about that helping hand that we’ve got with the MPI Foundation.

I think the most important thing that we need to understand that there’s not just me, there’s not just you, but there’s a whole community that sometimes just struggle. So just ask for that helping hand and let’s see where it takes you.
