Yesterday, on 20.08.2020, The Belgian government announced some new changes to the Corona Rules.
Specific rules for Events:
- All events must be in compliance with health and safety rules and will be organised according to certain conditions which are set out in protocols.
- Wearing a mask is compulsory.
- Registration with contact details such as email address and phone number is mandatory for contact tracing. The organizer will keep these details for 14 days.
- A permission request to the local municipality is always necessary
As from September 1st 2020 for a period of one month:
- Events without interaction between the participants, such as conferences, cultural shows, etc., with an audience seated in respect of social distancing a maximum of 200 participants inside and 400 participants outside are allowed. (up until September 1st : 100/200). Outdoor activities should be preferred if possible; otherwise, the room must be sufficiently ventilated.
- Social events with interaction between participants, such as a reception, a group photo,…: maximum 10 participants (previously: 50).
- The organizer is responsible for strict compliance with hygiene measures and social distancing.
REMINDER
The 6 golden rules in Belgium are still :
· Respect the health and safety measures
· Outdoor activities are preferred to indoor ones
· Pay special attention to vulnerable people
· Respect social distancing
· You can come into contact with a maximum of 5 people ("social bubble")
· Gatherings cannot exceed 10 people.
These rules apply until 31 August 2020.
