Join us for a session presented by Hayden Pigott, Tik Tok Platform Manager at Miles Partnership as she takes us through the rise of online video, how travelers are consuming it, and in what format. After this session you will walk away with tips for attracting visitors and attendees to your destination and events, as well as how to get creative with content to ensure success.

We are bringing back the ever popular Nuts & Bolts Education Sessions! During these quick 30 min sessions, members can hear quick bite sized content related to industry trends, ideas, or just a big idea! For our August session the Carolina Grace Yacht team will share planning tips on how to make sure your event is memorable. This is your chance to learn how to try something new, have an experiential meeting, and choose locations that are unconventional.

Speakers

   

Hayden Pigott is Miles Partnership’s TikTok Platform Manager. She creates strategies for tourism and hospitality clients’ organic campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube. With nearly 50K followers across three personal accounts, TikTok is where Hayden spends virtually all of her time. When she isn’t thinking about how DMOs can create viral moments, she is searching Charlotte for the best tacos, traveling to Austin to  watch her Longhorns play or reading the latest mystery novel. 

 

 

Tracy Montross joined American Airlines as a Regional Director of Government Affairs in January 2014.  While based in Charlotte, Montross serves as the airline’s representative in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee.  Throughout this territory, she is responsible for developing and executing regulatory and legislative proposals that may have a material effect on the company’s business operations; coordinating strategies that support operational efficiencies, tax relief, noise abatement, labor relations, corporate real estate, environmental goals, and corporate philanthropy; and represents American Airlines with various state and local governments, economic development agencies, Airports and Aviation Divisions, and industry associations to advocate for corporate and customer interests.  Montross is active within her community and has served as Chair of the Board for the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority and the Carolinas Aviation Museum.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, UNC Charlotte Foundation, and Women Executives. 

From 2011 to 2013, Montross served as Chief of Staff for the Office of the Mayor in Charlotte, supporting both Mayors Anthony Foxx and Patsy Kinsey on local, state and national issues, constituent concerns, community relations, as well as city-wide planning for the Democratic National Convention in 2012. She began her career in public service in 2005, serving first as the Washington, D.C., scheduler and then executive assistant for U.S. Senator Max Baucus of Montana. 

Montross received her master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a bachelor’s degree in political science and broadcast communications from Appalachian State University. She has been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal for their Women in Business and 40 under 40 awards, as well as UNC Charlotte’s MPA Alumna of the Year, Mecklenburg Times’ 50 Most Influential Women, and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Young Professional’s Public Servant of the Year. Tracy and her husband, Jesse Muñoz, are parents to two young boys, Jackson Boone and Wyatt.  Together, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as playing golf, visiting breweries, and traveling.

 

 

 Shannon Flaherty joined Amtrak in September 2022 as the Manager, Government Affairs. Based in Raleigh, NC, Shannon also serves the states of North Carolina and Virginia. Shannon’s main role is to build relationships with City Management and Mayor’s in cities where there is an Amtrak station. Shannon serves as the liaison between these officials and Amtrak. Prior to Amtrak, Shannon was the President of the Apex Chamber of Commerce in Apex, NC.

When not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her son, Trey, working out and spending time with her friends. Shannon resides in Apex, NC.

 

 

  Mitch Savoie Hill is a Certified Professional Coach, International TEDx Speaker, published   author, and Corporate Trainer with over 25 years of hospitality and leadership experience. She   started in the hospitality industry as a singing waitress in New York City when she was 18 years   old and later went on to manage teams for international companies in the restaurant, hotel,   property management, and construction industries. Mitch is a first-generation American, born   to Cuban exile parents, who survived a myriad of adventures and her fair share of   discrimination and adversity. She now dedicates herself to coaching individuals and teams on how to overcome their roadblocks to success and has authored an inspiring and instructional book on the subject. As the CEO and founder of SavHill Consulting LLC, she delivers inclusive leadership coaching, corporate training, and keynote speeches to help her audiences learn how to engage their diverse clients and teams to achieve optimum productivity and success. Working in high-stress, fast-paced environments in unique markets, such as Miami, New York, Atlanta, and LA, Mitch Savoie Hill developed best practices for dealing with different personalities and inspiring cooperation among diverse teams. Mitch attended New York University's renowned Tisch School of the Arts, where she mastered the skill of public presentation. She now uses that skill to help leaders become more confident with public speaking and commanding a room. Mitch's charismatic energy and contagious laugh captivate her audiences as she enlightens them on important topics such as conflict management, how to inspire cooperation, and embracing Diversity Equity & Inclusion. She received. her Ethical and Inclusive Leadership certificate from the University of South Florida and proudly serves on the DE&I Committees for the National Association of Women In Construction (NAWIC) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI). Mitch Savoie Hill is energized by helping leaders clarify their visions, map out actionable strategies and stretch their horizons!
