Tonisha is relatively new to Atlanta and joined our chapter in August seeking education and peer engagement. She is a planner and strategic thinker; placing a high value on the customer experience. Currently, she wears two hats within the meeting industry world. As the owner of KAK & Co, she has created, consulted, and led the execution of marketing campaigns and event experiences designed to engage audiences in the brand’s mission. Recently, Tonisha joined Points of Light to attract and engage new corporate partners while raising the profile of thought-leadership and corporate recognition programs. However, she was not always in the meetings and events industry. In 2003, she left the investments field after working on a major sporting event.
One of Tonisha’s best practices: before starting any project she begins with the “why” and then takes copious notes. When asked who she would invite to a dinner party, living or dead; she chose President Barack Obama, Maya Angelou, her grandmother, and Seth Godin as her dinner companions. Tonisha is looking forward to her next vacation which will be a two-fold excursion: a quick trip to a mountain spa in Arizona while on the way to Curacao. Here’s one of her favorite quips: “It’s not who you know, it’s who knows you.”
