Jeremiah Cook, Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau, Sales Manager
Joined MPI Georgia: October 2019
One of our new MPI Georgia members, Jeremiah Cook, joined us in October 2019. He currently serves as a Sales Manager with the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau working with the association, corporate and religious clients to ensure that they see why Athens is a premier destination for meetings and conventions. Jeremiah’s job is not only to walk clients through the site selection process but to ensure that they have the best event possible while hopefully breaking attendance records in Athens, GA. His work with the Athens CVB has also been his entry into the meeting industry. Jeremiah has spent his first, almost 4 years, at the CVB starting as an afternoon receptionist. “I love the work I get to do here because I have truly gotten the opportunity to learn so much there is to love about this city. I get the opportunity to pull back the curtain and connect clients with things that Athens has to offer that will make their meeting standout!” Right now, Athens CVB is working on new software that will link their Housing and Registration services. Since the start of their housing bureau, Jeremiah has been passionate about using technology to ensure clients get the best experience, and he finds it rewarding to see that come to fruition.
Jeremiah’s wife, Dani, is an inspiration and motivates him to do his best everyday. Even while completing her master’s degree and working two jobs, she works to ensure he is well taken care of from helping him study for his CMP exam, to listening to his endless stories. Dani makes it happen with a “Get it Done” attitude. Having grown up in the Atlanta area, Jeremiah also takes pride in his collection of Coke bottles. For Atlanta, there truly is nothing more iconic, and there is a Coke for every occasion: Christmas, Summer, Final Four, College Football Playoff, the 1980 College Football Champion Georgia Bulldogs. He doesn’t yet have a Garth Brooks Coke bottle; however, Jeremiah does delight in having attended the Garth Brooks concert at the Mercedes Benz Stadium. He has always been a fan and knew that he had to be present when Garth belted out “The Thunder Rolls” over the loudspeakers with the iconic “g” rotating on the halo screen.
