Grier Donald Spirited Event Group MPI Georgia Member since 2019

Please welcome Grier Donald to the Georgia Chapter of MPI. Grier is the owner of Spirited Event Group, a private event sales and marketing company, focused on growing revenue for small and unique venues in Georgia. She started the company 3 years ago when she saw a need with several local breweries who saw the benefits of hosting events in their space, but wanted to stay focused on their core-business of brewing and distributing their beer. In December, she organized a Holiday Market to help promote local and small businesses during the Holiday Season.

Though her company is young, she has been in the event business for 20 years organizing large scale music festivals and conferences. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in Accounting and received a Masters in Fine Arts (Music Business) from New York University. 

Grier joined MPI Georgia in December 2019. She jumped in feet first co-chairing the 2020 MPI Tech Summit both the "almost" live event and the subsequent virtual event due to COVID 19. She also managed the silent auction for the 2020 MPI Fall Classic.

As a best practice, Grier never lets an email go unanswered, even if it takes a day, week, or month to respond. Though, rarely the latter. She believes even the least relevant requests or communication deserves a response. When Grier was 22 and living in San Francisco, she also received some key career advice. Grier met with a well-established concert promoter who told her one day she would be in his position and a young person would come to her for advice. “Meet with them." His point was you are never too important or too busy to help others and share your knowledge and experience. I have taken this to heart throughout my career. I will always make time for others to share my experience, connections, and advice.

Grier loves to travel and visits to Southern India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Seychelles are on her bucket list. What draws her to these locales? “I imagine the colors, culture, and natural beauty of these places to be absolutely thrilling and stunning.” Grier also collects snow globes from cities she has either visited or lived in. Along with the memories that these mementoes conjure up, she finds magic in watching the “snow” fall while listening to the unique song that represents that city.
