MPI Georgia would like to welcome new member Christina Roberston Whitehead, an Independent Event Professional at M.U.S.E. Productions. A 23-year veteran of the corporate event industry, Christina has been busy pivoting to the virtual events and meeting world, using her ninja multi-tasking and organizational skills along with her technology background and experience working closely with A/V production teams. In 2020 she has been engaged in providing professional virtual moderator/facilitator services, building and executing virtual conferences while learning a wide variety of virtual event platforms and streaming platforms. She has provided Zoom training to clients, as well.

Christina comes from a background of global corporate events where she worked both in-house for software and technology companies and for third-party event agencies where she was fortunate to work with a wide variety of industries, including pharmaceutical and high-end manufacturing, to own all aspects of planning small and large meetings, conferences, incentive trips, trade show draw programs and many more. She has worked all over North America and in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Right now, Christina is thrilled to be picking back up one of her favorite events that was cancelled in 2020: a corporate sales meeting that takes place annually in her client’s headquarters in Albuquerque, during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Christina’s client has a pavilion and they host a fun Friday night party on site, as well as a sunrise breakfast the following morning to watch the balloons take off.

As an introduction into the meeting industry, she was hired in 1998 at a software company to assist the woman in charge of training their resellers. It became apparent quickly there really was not much for her to do in that role, and thankfully the head of marketing pulled Christina aside and said, “How would you like to handle our trade shows?” And that was the start. She handled their trade shows, reseller conferences, and product launches.

Being an Independent Planner, Christina does not have coworkers, however, her clients always use the word ENERGY to describe her. “I have a positive, high-energy personality and I’m always smiling. I want everyone around me to feel good and be excited about what we are doing!” Additionally, her number one best practice is TEAMWORK: Christina studied theater in college and the biggest impression it made on her was how crucial and important EVERY role was – from the actors to the set designers and stage manager, etc. Christina takes that to heart when working on events: “you can’t have a successful event without a great team who works well together. I include my vendors and partners in that team scenario.”

On a personal note, Christina has a favorite concert experience to share. She was in San Francisco for work, and at the time her brother and sister-in-law lived in Oakland, so she stayed the weekend after to visit them. Christina’s sister-in-law surprised her with tickets to see Prince. “It was his last tour before he passed away, and it was just absolutely amazing. I was not a die-hard fan before the concert, but I definitely was afterwards.”
