Help us welcome new MPI Georgia member Cherie Neal, Senior Director, Events at United Way of Greater Atlanta. She rejoined the chapter in July 2021. For over eight years Cherie has led the design, planning, and execution of United Way of Greater Atlanta’s signature events. Her goal through events is to fundraise, educate, collaborate, engage, and entertain and she hopes something you’ve experienced will be a catalyst for action and change. Cherie is currently working on a program that features women who are on the “Glow Up.” “You may not know them now, but you will!”

Cherie’s first job was working in music and entertainment. She says launching her career in New York City at Atlantic Records was a dream come true. It stood out because as a young adult she had the opportunity to plan events for well-known musicians. “It solidified my desire to remain an event professional.” Since then, Cherie has earned respect and recognition by delivering exceptional service and a professional approach to meeting and event design. She applies the following motto to both her professional and personal endeavors: “take care of and look out for people first in all that you do.”

Cherie was introduced to MPI Georgia through participation in the CMP Study Group and successfully passed as a result. During that time, she met and formed bonds with other meeting professionals that have lasted over a decade. Away from United Way, Cherie is also an MPI Georgia Mentor and serves as an Advisory Board Member of the National Junior League of Cotillions – Johns Creek Chapter.

Cherie has a piece of advice she will never forget: “invest in experiences; not things.” One of those experiences includes attending an unforgettable Beyonce concert during her “On the Run II” tour. She also loves tennis, skating, cycling, and tackling DIY projects.
