MPIGNY New York Forward Live Events Update

MPI Greater New York is partnering with New York Forward to provide an update on the latest industry guidelines and rapid COVID-19 testing as it relates to the New York City events community.  

New York Forward is a public-private partnership that expands the availability of rapid COVID-19 testing sites to build consumer confidence and accelerate the reopening of the state’s economy.
 
Questions that will be answered during this discussion include: 

• What will oversight/enforcement look like and what city/state entities will be responsible for such? 
• Will any documentation be required of the event spaces
• Assuming all regulations are followed, what if any, liabilities are present for the owners of the event space?
• Who is responsible if there is an outbreak?  Meeting organizer?   Venue?  What are the consequences in that case?
• For larger events, will NY Forward or Quest or the city/state have monitors the event space can hire to ensure all guidelines are met, affording greater protection for attendees and businesses alike?
• What are the requirements for participation in events – 
  • i.e. Temperature checks? Contact tracing requirements? Negative COVID test or vaccination verification needed?
