Top Performing Chapter Award

colomer, patrickDear MPI Greater New York Chapter Members,

We are officially in uncharted waters. Every person in this country has been affected by the COVID-19 virus. Every day seems to bring new challenges. Days have felt like weeks, weeks have felt like months, and we can't quite seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel...yet.

We all realize that adversity can find its way into our lives from time to time. But it is rare for it to be seen on a worldwide scale - and in such short order. This is a great opportunity for us all to remember that we are not defined by the challenges we encounter, but rather, how we persevere through adversity that makes up the character inside every one of us.

Franklin Roosevelt once said, "If civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships - the ability of all peoples, of all kinds, to live together, in the same world at peace."

Relationships are not just the lifeblood of our society. They also represent the core of the hospitality industry. Every day we engage each other to accomplish our professional goals. Relationships are the foundation of everything we do. Our industry is flush with strong, impactful, and authentic relationships. Now, more than ever, we must band together during this unprecedented time.

In response to this week's
recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, MPIGNY is making the following changes to our schedule:

• After Six Mix Networking Event Wednesday, March 25th - Cancelled
• Joanne Dennison CMP Class Saturday/Sunday April 18th & 19th - Postponed
• Global Meetings Industry Day Event Monday, April 13th - Postponed

As this pandemic is still fluid, we will continue to monitor all city, state and federal updates that could potentially impact our chapter.

MPI is leading the industry in providing relevant resources during this outbreak. Please visit the link below for continuous updates:

Stay positive and smart.  Also, please adhere to the
federal guidelines on how we all can aid in flattening the curve.

Best Regards,

Patrick Colomer
