What is the best thing about the meeting and events industry?

The thing that I love the best about the meeting and events industry is the fact that each event brings something or someone new and different to my life.  Additionally, I love the “never a dull moment” fast pace working environment where I can truly be a help and serve others, and help them to have an amazing experience.

What do you hope to gain from your MPI membership?

I hope to learn more about A/V, F&B and Meetings Management in general.  While I have 20+ years of hospitality experience, I’ve worked many years in limited service hotels or catering venues that host less than 250 at each event.  I now aspire to expand my knowledge so that I can plan events up to 1,000 or more!

What is your proudest professional accomplishment to date?

My proudest professional accomplishment(s) to date was winning Hotel Sales Manager of the Year for White Lodging’s Extended Stay Division in 2014 and returning the next year with my GM to accept our joint award for Extended Stay Hotel of the year in 2015.

What do you enjoy most in your current role at work?

In my current role as Director of Corporate Sales for Cambria Hotel Westfield, I most enjoy being a servant leader to my clients as well as our Sales and Operations teams.

What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t working?

When I’m not working, I enjoy being a band-mom and show choir-mom, being active in my church as a Usher Captain, hosting or attending LOTs of family gatherings, exercising, and roller skating.

Anything else you would like to share?

I roller skate….not roller blade….yes, I’m a true old school skater! (-:
