MPIKC Annual Professional Education Conference Postponed Until Fall

Dear Colleagues,

In light of the impact on MPI member businesses and the significant non-essential travel policies put in place in recent days, we have made the decision to move the dates of this year’s Professional Education Conference to the fall.

The MPIKC board of directors and all those involved in putting together this conference, believe that PEC should be the catalyst event for our members to begin looking forward and rebuilding again once the worst of COVID-19 is behind us.

We will be working directly with those who are already registered for PEC, to assist in transferring to the new dates.

At this time, we are not providing refunds for the rescheduled dates. However, we encourage transferring your registration to someone in your company who may be interested in attending PEC. If you are unable to attend the new date or unable to transfer your registration, then we will gladly submit refunds after the new date has been set and the inability to attend the new date has been confirmed.

We’re very grateful for the ongoing support of our members, attendees and supplier partners who continue to stand supportive of MPIKC and the industry. Be strong, things will get better. It might be stormy now, but rain doesn’t last forever.

Sincerely,

Danica Tolen

Why should you partner with MPI Kansas City?

Here is the testimonial of one of our great sponsors:

“Why I Partner with MPI Kansas City"

As a supplier you have many requests and opportunities to sponsor events with organizations in the hospitality industry.  There is no substitute for face to face interaction with the customer, but with budgets and time you are not always able to attend an event. Being a sponsor, offering a raffle prize or a silent auction item gives you a presence at that event. The question then becomes how do you measure the ROI from the dollars you have invested?

Three or four years ago I sponsored and attended the quarterly educational meeting.  I was able to do a presentation and show our video. I vividly remember walking out of the building that afternoon, thinking, that really wasn’t worth it, the supplier to planner ratio was particularly not balanced that day.  Fast forward to our September 2017 familiarization trip.  One of our guests sitting on the motor coach says to me, “I know you” and I say “I don’t think so”. “Yes, my name is Tony Ballard and you came to our MPI educational program 3 or 4 years ago.  I am here because of you and your presentation.”

I had not invited him, as he was there with his client, the American Society of Mammologists which are headquartered back east and my responsibilities are in the Midwestern states. The joint meeting of the American Society of Mammalogists and the International Mammalogical Congress will be held in Anchorage July of 2021. They anticipate 1500 attendees with an estimated economic impact of $3,663,475. That is why I sponsor MPI Kansas City. It only takes one believer to make my ROI and you just don’t know when that is going to happen, but happen it will.”
