July 2019 Luncheon Meeting

MPI KBC: Thursday, July 18, 2019

Hosts: Bourbon Barrel Foods at Butchertown Market; Copper & Kings; Butchertown Grocery and Lola

Time: 11:00am – 2:00pm

Educational Topic: Getting outside city limits and designing a progressive event centered around one area.

  • 1.)Gain tools to help design effective and engaging program agendas.
  • 2.)Learn how to assess requirements for each program component (production times, location, event staffing, setup requirements).
  • Demonstrate how to incorporate unique venues in your program, outside the city center, that will provide attendees with a deeper sense of the city’s history and story.

Anticipated CE Hours:   CMP IS Domain G: Meeting or Event Design, 1.5 CE Hours

Member of MPI Board to provide overview for the day and explain how the team came up with the event agenda.

Highlights: Test Kitchen, Resident Chef, and Film Secrets of Bluegrass Chef’s

11:50am: Copper & Kings

Activity: Tours & Cocktails

Educational Topic: How Copper and Kings designs their tours and the behind the scenes for setting up cocktails and receptions. 

12:30pm: Travel Time

12:40pm: Lunch- Butchertown Grocery / Lola

1:15pm Panel Discussion

  1. Moderator: Stephanie Rickert- Q The Agency
  2. Panelist: Louisville CVB Team Member
  3. Panelist: Mint Julep Tours- Discuss progressive events.
  4. Planner (Member of MPI) who has done progressive events in the past.
