Each year, the MPI Pittsburgh Chapter’s Nominating Committee recommends a slate of candidates to serve on the Chapter Board of Directors. On behalf of this year’s Nominating Committee, please follow the prompts on the form below to submit your name or the name of a peer for a position on the board.

The Board of Directors is made up of Pittsburgh chapter members: Vice Presidents, Directors, and Chairs who comprise the Executive Committee.  Active chapter members in good standing are eligible for nomination and election to any elective office.  For Vice President positions, it is preferable that the member has previous service on the Board of Directors.  Pittsburgh Executive Committee and Pittsburgh Director positions are available for the 2022-2023 term.

The Nominating Committee is made up of planners, suppliers and students who are in good standing and are familiar and active in chapter functions/events.

MPI Board of Directors Qualifications:
⦁ Be a member in good standing.
⦁ Be willing to fulfill the obligations of office, in the capacity indicated.
⦁ Have a history of involvement, accomplishment and dependable service to MPI.
⦁ Be willing to contribute time, energy and creativity to the chapter with the consent of your employer.

Serving on the board is not only demanding and challenging, but it is also extremely rewarding.  Consider becoming a leader in a chapter of the largest organization of meeting professionals.  This is your chance to contribute to the growth and professionalism of our chapter…AND YOU!           

Before committing to a board position, please review the job descriptions .  In addition, consider the following responsibilities of all board members:

  • Must attend and participate in 10 board meetings (we hold board meetings monthly). Typically we try to meet in person however, virtual options are available.
  • Must submit a board report each month with fellow committee members.
  • Attendance at monthly chapter meetings is strongly encouraged.
  • Attendance at the annual retreat in May/June 2022 as well as the January mid-year retreat in 2022 is essential.
  • Contribution of information and ideas on behalf of what is best for our members.
  • And other responsibilities as outlined in the committee description section.

Proposed Board Application Timeline 
(subject to change at the discretion of the Nominations Committee):
  • Open Nominations for the 2022, 2023 Board Slate on November 8, 2021
  • Nominations Close will close on December 5, 2021, and then at that time the Nominations Committee will begin phone calls with each nominated member to discuss qualifications, expectations, and the nominee’s preferred board position/Department.
  • Slate Submitted for current Board of Directors approval on January 10, 2022
  • Slate posted for 30 days on www.mpipittsburgh.org website for contentions/objections from membership.
  • Slate sent to MPI Global by March 1, 2022
