We want you to GET INVOLVED! We have a wide variety of options for members to get involved with the chapter and serve on our Board of Directors. Our high performing chapter relies upon the dedication and outstanding service of our volunteers to allow us to continuously address the changing needs of our members. By serving on the board, you have a great opportunity to build your professional skill set, expand your network and contribute to the long-term success of the Pittsburgh region meeting industry.


MPI Pittsburgh Chapter 2023-2024 Board Positions

  • Vice President of Events
  • Vice President of Strategic Partnerships
  • Vice President of Marketing and Communications
  • Director of Marketing
  • Director of Membership Retention
  • Director of Networking
  • Director of Student Involvement
  • Chair of Global Meeting Industry Day Event
  • Chair of Annual May Fundraiser
  • Welcome Ambassador (New Member Chair)

2023-2024 Board of Directors take office on July 1, 2023. These one-year term positions are open for nomination between November 1 – December 1, 2022.

Nominee Criteria:

  • Must be a member in good standing
  • Willingness and ability to fulfill the obligations of office in the capacity indicated
  • Desire to contribute time, energy, support and creativity to the chapter with consent of employer
  • Leadership, business, and management experience outside of MPI
  • Completed application form

Nominating Process and Timeline:

  • November 1 – December 1 – nominations open and accepted
  • December 1-30 – Candidate Interviews
  • January 2023 – Board slate presented to current board for approval
  • January 30 - Board slate is presented to the membership for approval
  • March 1 -  Slate approved barring no contest
