President

The President is directly responsible for communicating with and supervising the chapter officers and directors to ensure that all assignments are completed according to the strategic plan, the chapter is financially sound, and membership is advised of all progress. Prior to servicing as President, this individual must fulfill the year commitment as the President-Elect.


President-Elect

The President-elect shall preside at all meetings in the absence of the President, work with officers to ensure chapter minimum standards are met, develop leadership succession planning strategies for the chapter and shall perform such other duties that may be delegated by the President and/or the Chapter Board of Directors.  This position is a three-year commitment President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President.


Immediate Past President

The Immediate Past President serves as a voting member of Board of Directors and Executive Committee and chairs the Nominating Committee, ensuring compliance with bylaws and policy, providing an open nominations & elections process, and ensuring compliance with MPI elections calendar requirements. Prior to servicing as Immediate Past President, this individual must fulfill the two year commitment of President-Elect and President.


Vice President of Education

In the absence of both the President and President-elect, the Vice President of Education shall preside at the meetings. The VP of Education will be responsible for planning the monthly educational programs.  This position is responsible for the overall educational direction/content and speaker sourcing of these programs, ensuring timely information and industry best practices are presented. The VP of Education will ensure that CMP CEU credits are incorporated into the programming and that the educational budget is managed. The VP of Education shall work directly with the Director of Monthly Programs to manage event logistics and work with the VP of Strategic Marketing and the Chapter Administrator to ensure promotion of educational events is accurate and timely. 


Vice President of Strategic Marketing

The Vice President of Strategic Marketing shall be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the Chapter Website, Media, Press, Advocacy, and printed Marketing for the Chapter.  This position is tasked with developing a marketing business plan and timeline while being a leader of the MPI Pittsburgh brand.  Innovation in support of community outreach is a plus! In addition, The VP of Strategic Marketing will work alongside the Chapter Administrator in the proofing and approval of chapter communication requests.  This position will also work closely with Director of Marketing to advise and direct all chapter social media efforts.  


Vice President of Membership

The Vice President of Membership shall be responsible for Membership Recruitment, Member Orientation, and cultivating Volunteers and Committees. In addition, with the assistance of the Director of Membership Retention/Recruitment, this position will also be responsible for Member Retention, Hospitality, Recognition Programs and Scholarships.  The Vice President of Membership is tasked with presenting reports monthly to the Board of Directors and ensuring all MPI metrics are aligned and achieved.  This individual will work closely with MPI Global, VP of Strategic Marketing and the Chapter Administration to make sure all initiatives and programs are conveyed to membership in an accurate and timely manner.  Lastly, this position is responsible for continuing to build and establish partnerships with universities in the area.   


Vice President of Finance

The Vice President of Finance has responsibility for financial planning and control.  This position will master the initial, mid-year, and end-of-year financial report and will present the month actuals to the Board of Directors.  The Vice President of Finance shall also work with the chapter sponsorship contractor on all revenue generating events and activities with the exception of the educational programs.  In addition, this position is responsible for venue sourcing for the educational programs throughout the year and is expected to work closely with the VP of Partnership Development and the VP of Special Events and Networking to assist with securing sponsorships and donations.  


Vice President of Partnership Development

The Vice President of Partnership Development is responsible for building a strong base of sponsorship support for MPI Pittsburgh programs and activities. This position ensures the standards of recognition are implemented at all chapter events and manages the relationship with the chapter's contracted sponsors. This person reports directly to the Office of the President.


Vice President of Special Events and Networking

The Vice President of Special Events & Networking develops strategies to establish special events, specifically the Chapter’s yearly fundraising events and multiple networking events. This position will monitor industry trends to discover best practices and create ideas that can be implemented.  The Vice President of Special Events & Networking works directly with the Director of Networking and the Chair of the May Celebration to manage the planning and execution of these events. In addition, The VP of Special Events and Networking will work closely with the VP of Strategic Marketing and the Chapter Administrator to ensure promotion of events is accurate and timely.  This individual has a key role in events-based fundraising efforts and is responsible for managing the Special Events and Networking budget.  


Director of Membership Retention/Recruitment

The Director of Membership Retention/Recruitment works directly with the Vice President of Membership and assists in maintaining and working with the Chapter Administrator in keeping complete and accurate records of the Chapter's membership and to reconcile reports monthly through MPI. The Director of Membership Retention/Recruitment will also assist the VP of Membership and work with the Chapter Administrator to establish a retention goal for the year, based on the strategic plan and develop and maintain an active and ongoing campaign to retain members.  This position will encourage member involvement in committees, perform an annual chapter needs assessment survey,  provide hospitality at chapter functions by welcoming attendees,  work with committees to expand volunteer long-term involvement with chapter, and submit content to social media in support of member care activities. 


Director of Monthly Programs

The Director of Monthly Programs assists the Vice President of Education in the planning and implementation of a specified number of educational events, including monthly educational programs and webinars.  This position’s main focus is to coordinate and manage final venue logistics to include set-up, food & beverage, AV, speaker needs, and to develop an agenda and PowerPoint for each educational event.  The Director of Monthly programs will ensure communication and execution to make sure MPI Pittsburgh members have a successful experience.  This position reports directly to the VP of Education.


Director of Networking

The Director of Networking assists the Vice President of Special Events and Networking in the planning and implementation of a specified number of special events that include the Chapter’s yearly fundraising events and multiple networking events. In conjunction with the VP of Special Events and Networking, this position assists in developing networking content and the event format based on chapter and industry trends.  In addition, they are responsible for assisting with venue and vendor sourcing, vendor needs, coordinating and executing event logistics, and any other event items as designated by the VP of Special Events and Networking.  


Director of Marketing

The Director of Marketing is primarily responsible for the ongoing management of the Chapter's social media presence and works closely with the VP of Strategic Marketing to ensure a synergistic effort in maintaining the brand awareness and key messaging is delivered in primary portals throughout the web.  This position works closely with Education, Special Events & Networking, and Membership teams to ensure efficient communications are facilitated to the membership and the public about the Chapter activities. This position reports to the VP of Strategic Marketing. 


Chair of Global Meetings Industry Day

The Chair of Global Meetings Industry Day will assist the VP of Education and the Director of Monthly Programs in the planning and implementation of the annual day of advocacy that happens every spring.  The Chair is responsible for researching chapter and industry trends to assist with recommendations of educational content and speaker selection.   This position will also be responsible for creating the agenda and the flow of the event, partnering with other industry associations, managing venue logistics, and accommodating speaker/sponsor/vendor needs.  The Chair of GMID will provide additional assistance throughout the year on other events as requested by the Education Team.


Chair of May Celebration

The Chair of the May Celebration will assist the Vice President of Special Events and Networking as well as the Director of Networking in planning and executing MPI Pittsburgh’s largest annual fundraising event.  The Chair will be responsible in researching and gathering donations for the chance, silent, and trip auctions and will be in involved with venue procurement, vendor sourcing (F&B, Entertainment, etc.), and event logistics.  In addition, this position shall research trends in networking and fundraiser events to ensure a customized experience.  The Chair of May Celebration will provide additional assistance throughout the year on other events as requested by the Special Events and Networking team especially for the December holiday party.
