MPI Texas Hill Country’s Group Mentor Program

Whether you’re a seasoned events professional, new to this industry or young with experience, we all have what it takes to succeed together!

We will welcome participants via a group email and kick off with an open channel of communication for those of you who are either seeking assistance with new job opportunities you have just been assigned to manage or have big-picture ideas and brainstorming for the future of this industry.

As a member of MPI, we know we succeed in groups while challenging each other, promoting accountability and striving to take on any new idea or challenge. So join this group not only to support your fellow colleagues but to take this industry to the next level.

Communication Committees

 

This committee overviews all chapter communication (for brand and chapter standards), creating awareness of the chapter in the meeting industry through the promotion of chapter programs, projects, issues, and special events. Members of this committee will write or source relevant industru content for blogs, short articles, and website content. Members of this committee will also create member profiles and testimonials for the MPI Texas Hill Country website, including short articles and video interviews.

This committee reviews all content, including emails and web pages, prior to being released to the membership. Members of this committee will proof others' provided content.

This highly exciting and energetic team will focus on engaging and connecting with MPI Texas Hill Country members and nonmembers, industry professionals on social media. The responsibilities include building brand awareness, attracting traffic to the website, sponsor activations, and member engagement.

This committee is responsible for writing, editing, gathering content, as well as contributing design and ideas for Under the Oaks, Texas Hill Country's e-newsletter that is published monthly. Members must be eager to write articles and source industry-related content that provides value to the MPI Membership.

Education Committees

 

The Certified Meeting Professional designation is a highly respected designation within the Meetings Industry. This committee is responsible for setting up CMP Introduction and the CMP Bootcamp study course that will provide training for candidates. The committee will secure a venue and all event details. Must be a current CMP to serve on this committee.

This committee plans, coordinates and staffs chapter education events that can occur over breakfast, lunch or dinner. Duties include booking speakers, sponsor solicitation, site selection and onsite management.

This committee assists with registration onsite only for monthly programs, TEC, GMIS, and other MPI events - handing out name badges and greeting attendees upon arrival.

This committee is responsible for designing, coordinating and staffing the MPI Texas Hill Country annual educational conference. This committee is also responsible for arranging facility, speakers, sponsors and activities.

This committee plans, coordinates and staffs the Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) event. Duties include booking speakers, sponsor solicitation, site selection and onsite management.

Membership Committees

 

This committee plans a successful recognition campaign to recognize MPI Texas Hill Country members of their accomplishments and devotion to the chapter. Committee members will establish a recognition campaign, promote nominations throughout the year, and recognize members.

This committee plans an annual community outreach program in the Austin area. This committee will work to benefit a non-profit organization whose mission, goals, and objectives affect the Meetings and Events Industry. Needs of the committee includes planning the model of this event, choosing an activity, and determining the benefitting charity. All to be voted on by the MPI Texas Hill Country board of directors.

Just like any organization, MPI Texas Hill Country needs new members to continue the growth and success of our chapter. Members of this committee will design, plan and execute campaigns to recruit new members for MPI THCC.

Membership retention is one of the most important elements of MPI Texas Hill Country's success. Committee members will personally contact other members asking for feedback. They will also design or help implement membership retention initiatives throughout the year.

Remember when you had just joined the chapter? You didn't know anyone, and you weren't sure where to start or how to get involved with the chapter. Members of this committee personally contact and mentor new members of MPI Texas Hill Country. Help new members learn the ropes of how to be most successful with the chapter. Let them know that they have a friend in the chapter who can answer questions and help them meet other chapter members.

This committee plans and executes chapter networking events in Austin and San Antonio and other networking strategies and activities or the networking hour at all monthly programs. Committee will find venues, plan, promote, coordinate and staff events.

Current chapter members can apply for scholarships that can be used to pay MPI membership dues, fees related to earning your CMP, registration fees for MPI conferences, and more. Committee members promote the scholarship program and judge the applications that are submitted.

Each year, we host an end of the year celebration. Join this committee to help plan this event from start to finish including determining a date, venue, sponsorships, and an exciting experience for all in the industry.
