    1. Best Practice:

    Venue/event should prepare a BC/DR Plan for each venue/event.

    • Anticipate events that could cause the potential for evacuation/shelterin-place/relocation at the venue

    Objectives:

These should be addressed in Risk/Threat Assessment Plan.

    Implementation:

Consider using local DHS Protective Security Advisor and Infrastructure Protection Program to assist. FEMA can also provide resources.

    Applicability/Scalability:

This is more venue-oriented because of the actual facility, but the impact of a disaster will also impact the event and future events.

    1. Best Practice:

Identify security and safety needs for continuation, cancellation, resiliency and recovery.

    Implementation:

Would also be part of a mitigation strategy.

    Applicability/Scalability:

    Business sustainability is the key.

    1. Best Practice:

Mobilize event/venue staff, as a “care team” for emergency response, with method to notify and activate them.

    Objectives:

Best utilization of resources for immediate response and recovery.

    Implementation:

Company sponsored insurance carrier may be a resource for emergency planning and notifications.
