Amanda Cecil

Dr. Amanda Cecil is in her ninth year on the IUPUI's Tourism, Convention and Event Management's faculty. As an assistant professor, she teaches several courses in meeting and event management and international tourism. Additionally, Dr. Cecil is involved with TCEM study aboard programs and conducts research in event, cultural, and sport tourism. Her industry involvement includes 2009-2010 Chair ofthe MPI Body of Knowledge Task Force, 2007-2008 President of the Indiana Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), an appointed member of the MPI international future of meetings task force, and the 2007 chair of the Professional Convention Management Association's (PCMA) faculty task force. Dr. Cecil was recently awarded the 2006-2007 "PCMA Educator of the Year" and named to the Indiana Chapter ofMPI's Hall of Fame in 2008.
