Welcome to the MPI Staff and Board Speaker Program! Use this page to learn more about each MPI staff and volunteer leader who can speak at your chapter event or program. This program helps MPI create relevant and dynamic presentation decks in support of MPI leaders, and it streamlines leaders’ experience when they are requested to speak. When you use this program, you will never have to pay speaking fees, however, we do ask that you reimburse or provide airfare, ground transportation, and any accommodations that may be needed by speakers to attend your event. Most presentations are only intended to last 10-15 minutes, and longer presentations are given at the discretion of the speaker.

SPEAKER BIO:

Diane Hawkins, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is Executive Vice President, Volunteer Engagement for Meeting Professionals International (MPI) in Dallas, where she serves as the human resources leader and is responsible for workforce planning, talent management, results-oriented performance culture and leadership and knowledge management. She also has responsibility for the association’s Volunteer Experience Team, which manages board relations and governance.

Prior to joining MPI in 2008, Diane served as a human resources consultant for Corporate Talent Resources and also as Senior Director, Human Resources at LSG Sky Chefs, Inc., where she led human resource activities for the Americas’ region with more than 6,000 employees and a $1B in revenue.

Throughout her career, Diane has had a wide range of leadership assignments utilizing her knowledge of strategic management; workforce planning and employment; human resource development; total rewards; employee and labor relations; and risk management in a variety of industries including food service and production, hotels, manufacturing and a financial outsourcing organization.

Diane is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resources Management and was an adjunct instructor for the University of Dallas where she facilitated the SHRM Learning System. Diane currently serves as a board member for Our Friends Place and previously served on the board of Attitudes and Attire, both dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency. She holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Northwood University.
