2027 board slates should have been distributed to your members by now to allow them a 30-day period to review and, if applicable, contest any board position(s). Uncontested board slates should be submitted to MPI no later than August 1.
A template to share the board slate with the members and a different template to submit the board slate to MPI are available via the CLRP > Compliance > August 1 Compliance
The Chapter Operations Team will be evaluating the seven key performance indicators (KPIs) and corresponding metric goals for 2027 in late August, and we need your help.
Please make sure that all data in your dashboard report from January through June 2026 is correct and no information is missing.
We will use the dashboard data available to determine the metric goals for next term so they can be announced during Chapter Leadership Summit taking place on September 10, 2026.
If dashboard information needs updating, please use the Missing Dashboard Information template and submit it to your Regional Operations Manager.
We are excited to welcome the newest MPI Verified Facilitator to the team – Anthony Molino (New Jersey). Check out the catalog here: CLRP > Facilitator Documents > Supporting Documents > MPI Verified Facilitator Catalog 2026
The annual Membership & Chapter Satisfaction Survey (MCSS) launched on Tuesday, June 30 and will close on Tuesday, July 21. Thank you to those who have already promoted this!
To support you with promoting the survey to your membership, a toolkit has been prepared and saved in the CLRP > Chapter Toolkits > Monthly Toolkits > MCSS 2026 Chapter Toolkit.
If your Chapter is offering an incentive draw associated with the survey, please let your Chapter Operations Team know. Include the number of random names you would like drawn and if Board members are eligible to win.
Chapters are encouraged to achieve a response rate representing at least 12% of their membership to ensure the results are sufficiently representative and can be used with confidence for planning and decision-making. Response rates for this year's survey can be obtained from your Chapter Operations Team Member.
Does your Chapter/Club offer a member orientation? If you do not offer new members a monthly orientation, please encourage your new members to join the MPI New Member Orientation. By attending orientation, your new members will engage with other MPI members worldwide and learn about opportunities for them to advance their knowledge and connections across MPI.

Copy/Paste Content for Chapter Communications:

New members, register for the MPI New Member Orientation (a 45-minute webinar). You’ll learn all about the benefits available to you - beyond what is offered through our Chapter/Club - and how to utilize them to accomplish your unique goals.

Thank you to the MPI Chicago Area Chapter for sharing the following best practices.
These resources can be found on the CLRP > Membership tab.
Please be aware that on Saturday, August 8, from 7:00am – 7:00pm CDT we will be taking the MPI website and Single Sign-On (SSO) offline to perform an upgrade to our Association Management System, Aptify. Chapter/Club websites will also be offline during this time as well. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is necessary to keep our systems up-to-date and protected from any potential vulnerabilities.
The May 2026 Product Update has been added to the CLRP. The update can be found on the CLRP under Office of the President > Event & Marketing Automation.
As MPI continues its commitment to minimizing the environmental, social, and economic impacts of events worldwide, we are pleased to share a sustainability toolkit that chapters can use to integrate sustainable practices into local events.
Developed by the MPI Sustainability Advisory Council, this toolkit is designed to support chapters at every stage of their sustainability journey—from those just beginning to explore sustainability initiatives to those with more advanced programs already in place. The resources and guidance provided are intended to help you make meaningful progress and create a positive impact within your community and beyond.
The Sustainability Toolkit for Chapters can be found on the CLRP > Chapter Toolkits > General Toolkits/Documents.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Survey Focus Groups
This past April, MPI partnered with Nonprofit HR, Powered by OneDigital, to conduct an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) survey that was distributed to MPI Global Staff, IBOD, GBOT, Volunteer Chapter Leaders, and International Volunteer Committee Members/Leaders. Following a review of the survey findings, Nonprofit HR, Powered by OneDigital is now hosting a series of virtual focus groups to gain deeper insights and better understand participants' perspectives. These confidential, facilitator-led discussions will help inform the next phase of MPI's EDI strategy and priorities. Participants can choose from several focus groups, including identity-based groups and an open session for anyone who would like to share additional feedback. Sessions will be held virtually between July 28 and August 4, and registration is available through the focus group links provided in the invitation email. We encourage you to participate and share your voice. Your insights are valuable as we continue to strengthen MPI's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience for all focus group participants. Please contact Jenai Talley Jackson if you have any accessibility needs or require accommodations related to sensory, visual, auditory, cognitive, or other considerations. We will do our best to support you.
Have Your Chapter and Region Represented at the July EDI Office Hours
Inclusive solutions require diverse perspectives. A globally aligned, locally relevant future starts with you and hearing from every region.
All Volunteer Chapter Leaders are encouraged to join in a special session, facilitated by members of the MPI Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Global Advisory Committee to share EDI initiatives, ideas, and any barriers to your Chapter’s initiatives. These office hours will provide Volunteer Chapter Leaders an opportunity to discuss current MPI and Chapter EDI initiatives, share ideas, and collaborate. We will also explore key global EDI efforts and discuss how they can support and strengthen regional initiatives.
Volunteer Chapter Leaders are encouraged to actively participate, share experiences, and help develop solutions that are both locally relevant and globally aligned. Your input is essential in shaping a more inclusive future for everyone.
Talk with your Chapter and board about who can attend and ensure your region has a voice in the conversation.

As FIFA World Cup 2026 brings millions of fans, workers, visitors and volunteers together across North America, it also reminds us why trafficking prevention must be part of major event planning. Large-scale events do not cause human trafficking, but the surge in travel, temporary labor, hospitality activity, transportation use and short-term lodging can create conditions traffickers may exploit.
For meeting and event professionals, this is more than a global sports story. It is a call to prepare our teams, venues, suppliers, and volunteers to recognize warning signs, know how to report concerns safely, and respond in a survivor-centered way.
MPI Chapters can help by sharing trusted resources, inviting local experts to speak, promoting hotline information, and encouraging members to complete trafficking-awareness training. During the World Cup and long after the final whistle, our industry has an opportunity to turn awareness into action and help make every gathering safer.
Consider applying for a position to serve on the 2027 MPI International Board of Directors (IBOD), MPI Foundation Global Board of Trustees (GBOT) or Regional Council. All MPI Members are encouraged to apply.
