Following on from a hugely successful HB Cares event in Manchester earlier this month, HelmsBriscoe is proud to continue its philanthropic work, supporting two autism charities; the National Autistic Society (NAS) and Space4Autism (S4A).
Over the past six years, with the support of the MPIF, HB Cares networking events have raised almost £200,000, some of which has aided programmes designed to increase the employability of young people on the autistic spectrum and provide valuable work experience. In addition, funds raised have enabled NAS to launch a new pilot of employability and HelmsBriscoe are the first company to get on board with their Employability Hospitality Programme, run at their Anderson School – Enterprise Centre, based in Essex.
Starting with a single annual event in London in 2013, HB Cares successfully launched a second event last year in Manchester, to extend the work experience programme outside of the capital to the North West. Working closely with S4A and the Bridgewater Hall Community Education Trust known as "Bridgewater for All", participants have gained work experience in the hospitality industry which they have used to build their confidence in addition to the practical skills gained.
