Grants and Scholarships
Vanessa Cotton Student Scholarship
The scholarship was created in 2011 in honour of UK event industry veteran Vanessa Cotton. She had a long and distinguished career in the UK meetings & events industry and passed away in 2010 after a battle with cancer.
Entrants are asked to demonstrate their previous events-related work experience, both paid and voluntary, and entry is free to all UK & Ireland students looking to build a career in the sector. The scholarship is funded by Mash Media and the MPI UK & Ireland Chapter and is available to MPI student members currently studying a meetings industry related degree in the UK or Ireland.
Each year we offer the opportunity to award one or more scholarships. The scholarship offerings for each year will be confirmed with the application details, but past prizes have included a four-month paid internship with Mash Media with the opportunity to work on a number of Mash Media events - including; ‘The Event Production Show’, ‘International Confex’, ‘The PA Show’ and the launch of ‘The Publishing Show’ at ExCel.
In addition, previous winners have taken up a position actively supporting the programme of activity driven by the MPI UK & Ireland Marketing and Communications Committees.
