Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the largest meeting and event industry association worldwide, has partnered with Madison Area Technical College (Madison College), a public technical and community college in Madison, Wisconsin, to launch a new digital credential for MPI’s Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) program.

Designed for medical and healthcare meeting professionals and the partners, destinations and venues they work with, MPI’s HMCC program offers a broad understanding of regulatory topics, along with competency groundwork through case studies, business simulation, discussion and active exercises.

“Digital credentials also known as ‘digital badges’ have become popular among many different industry sectors as a way for designees to display their educational endeavors in a crisp and modern way,” said Nancy Snowden, Manager of Curriculum and Instructional Design for Meeting Professionals International. “By partnering with Madison College, MPI can issue badges rich with meta-data that provide best-in-class functionality for users, as well as enhanced analytics to measure the success and reach of the HMCC program.”

The HMCC program provides healthcare meeting compliance stakeholders with the knowledge and experience they need to successfully navigate the increasingly complex pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device regulatory environment.

“We are excited to partner with MPI to offer this globally-verified digital credential to such a powerful certificate,” said Janet Sperstad, Faculty Director, Event Management Business Solutions, Madison College.  “MPI continuously strives to deliver real and relevant education to the events industry and we are proud to co-create this digital credential with them to elevate and validate the knowledge of events industry community members who have successfully completed this rigorous course.”

Starting in 2021, every participant in an HMCC course will receive a digital credential to add to their email signature and professional profiles. All other designees will receive their digital credentials when they complete their biannual (every two years) recertification. It can also be purchased ahead of that date for immediate use. Students who currently hold an active HMCC designation can purchase their badge through the MPI Academy at www.mpi.org/digitalbadge.
