Our volunteer opportunities range from high-level strategic planning to campaigning and fundraising for MPI Foundation. 

 


Committees

Councils, committees, and task forces are annually authorized by the chair of the International Board of Directors and MPI's president and CEO to provide critical industry insights and fulfill key governance roles for MPI Global.

The board of directors, comprising distinguished leaders from across the meetings, entertainment, and event industries, provides strategic oversight and guidance in shaping MPI’s organizational planning and directives.

Chapter Volunteer Opportunities

Members can begin their volunteer work in their local chapter or region. By working collaboratively on your local chapter’s activities, you will create life-long relationships with peers who have a common interest in the meetings and events industry.   To learn more about your local chapter’s volunteer opportunities, find your chapter on the MPI chapter directory. 

  • Ad-hoc volunteer:  Working on a one-time, clearly defined task without long-term commitment (ex. monitoring registration, table host)
  • Committee member: Working on a segment of chapter tasks (ex. membership, communications, special events)
  • Committee chair:  Leading a group of volunteers that are working on a segment of chapter tasks 
  • Board member:   providing Strategic oversight of a segment of committees (ex. finance, marketing/communications)

Regional Councils

The Regional Councils are responsible for fostering collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement across the established MPI regions, providing strategic direction, benchmarking, best practices and mentorship to support Chapter leaders.
