Our volunteer opportunities range from high-level strategic planning to campaigning and fundraising for MPI Foundation.
Each council, committee, or task force is commissioned on an annual basis by that year's chair of the International Board of Directors and MPI's president and CEO to provide MPI with vital industry perspective on urgent concerns in the community, as well as perform fundamental governance functions for MPI Global.
These Advisory Boards have been commissioned by MPI Staff. Their objectives reflect needs identified by specific business units.
The board of directors is comprised of industry leaders with experiences in various disciplines within the meetings, entertainment, and event industry. They provide valuable oversight and guidance to MPI's organizational planning and directives.
Members can begin their volunteer work in their local chapter or region. By working collaboratively on your local chapter’s activities, you will create life-long relationships with peers who have a common interest in the meetings and events industry.
To learn more about your local chapter’s volunteer opportunities, find your chapter on the MPI chapter directory.

July Volunteer Spotlight: Liz Hogan
"Volunteering on the Chapter Members Advisory Council has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I love having the opportunity to hear directly from members around the world and work alongside dedicated volunteer leaders and MPI staff to help drive meaningful change. The opportunity to learn from others’ perspectives, exchange ideas, and help implement changes that shape the future of MPI is something I’m truly honored to be a part of."- Liz Hogan, Member, Chapter & Membership Advisory Council, Southeast Regional Council Vice Chair; from MPI North Florida Chapter
June Volunteer Spotlight: Khris Baizen
"Volunteer leadership reminds me that our influence isn’t measured in titles, but in the people we help along the way. I serve because someone once saw something in me—and I believe in paying that forward, one conversation, one seat-at-the-table, one future at a time."- Khris Baizen, Member, EDI Committee, the Emerging Professionals Advisory Council, and MPI Foundation Grants & Scholarships Committee; from MPI Sacramento/Sierra Nevada Chapter
