Joe Marcy is on the Global Board of Trustees for Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) Foundation. Marcy was recognized in 2019 as MPI’s Global Member of the Year. He’s been a member of MPI for over 10 years. He’s also Past President of the Award-Winning Southern California Chapter. As Business Development Executive for the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Marcy contributes to the destination’s diversity, sustainability and tourism efforts. He was the recipient of the Western Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (WACVB) Scholarship Award and is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Certified Incentive Travel Professional (CITP). Collaborate Magazine recognized Marcy in their “40 under 40” issue and was recognized as “Visionary Supplier of the Year” by Smart Meetings Magazine. In his spare time, Marcy volunteers with the Human Rights Campaign, the P.S. I Love You Foundation and The Trevor Project. He’s also a City Commissioner for Manhattan Beach’s Cultural Arts where he works closely with council and staff on diversity projects. He’s also President of the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair Association (MBHTF) where he leads efforts to maximize Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the organization’s bylaws, core values and operations. He received the Manhattan Beach Mayor’s Award in 2012 and a commendation from the Los Angeles County Supervisor in 2020.
