Do You Have a Board Member Not Receiving the Chapter Leader Newsletter Notification Email?

We’ve received reports of some Volunteer Chapter Leaders and Administrators not receiving the email notification when the Chapter Leader Newsletter (CLN) is published.  If you have a Board member not receiving the notification email, here are a few ways to help ensure they stay informed about new CLN releases.

Whitelisting this email address can help prevent newsletter notifications from being filtered into junk or spam folders.

  • Set a Calendar reminder
The CLN is typically released on the second Thursday of each month. A recurring calendar reminder can help ensure no one misses an issue.

  • Check with your organization’s IT department
Some organizations may have security settings that prevent email from reaching inboxes. Encourage Board members to check with their IT team to ensure notification emails are being delivered.

MPI Foundation

MPI Foundation Updates

Congratulations to the MPI Ottawa Chapter – 2026 Chapter Champion Award Recipient

During the WEC General Session on June 4, the MPI Foundation recognized the MPI Ottawa Chapter as the recipient of the 2026 Chapter Champion Award.

Ottawa has a long history of supporting the MPI Foundation, but in 2025 they made one simple change: they designated the MPI Foundation as a Chapter charity of choice and increased the Foundation's share of proceeds from their annual fundraising dinner. That decision increased their donation from approximately $1,000 to more than $6,500 from a single event.

Their success serves as a reminder that small changes can have a significant impact. As you plan for 2026 and beyond, consider what one simple decision or adjustment could help increase your chapter's support of the MPI Foundation.

Reminders & Opportunities
  • 2026 MPI Foundation Pledge Forms – If you have not yet submitted your chapter's pledge form, please do so at your earliest opportunity. It's never too late to commit and never too early to start planning.
  • Mid-Year Donation Payments – Donation payments were due June 15. Chapters may donate by check, credit card, wire transfer, or other approved methods.
  • Scholarship Opportunities – Encourage your members to explore available MPI Foundation scholarships for memberships, MPI Academy courses, theEvent, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Chapter Grants Available – Funding is available to support chapter programs, special projects, and educational initiatives. Consider whether a chapter grant could help enhance your member experience.

Special Committees

Anti-Human Trafficking Committee Empowered through Education

MPI’s Anti-Human Trafficking Committee is surging forward with the committee tradition of intentional self-education.  For 2026, the committee is excited to welcome, and learn from, the following experts in the fight against human trafficking in our industry:  Rebecca Kahle, Rahab Ministries;  David Allison, Special Victims Unit, Waco Police; Joe Savarise, Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association.  Our committee understands that the more we know and understand about this horrific crime, the more empowered and impactful we can be.  We are grateful to our experts for contributing their time and knowledge to our cause.

Join Us for the July EDI Office Hours

Inclusive solutions require diverse perspectives. A globally aligned, locally relevant future starts with you and  hearing from every region.

All Volunteer Chapter Leaders are encouraged to join in a special session, facilitated by members of the MPI Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Global Advisory Committee to share EDI initiatives, ideas, and any barriers to your Chapter’s initiatives.  These office hours will provide Volunteer Chapter Leaders an opportunity to discuss current MPI and Chapter EDI initiatives, share ideas, and collaborate. We will also explore key global EDI efforts and discuss how they can support and strengthen regional initiatives.

Volunteer Chapter Leaders are encouraged to actively participate, share experiences, and help develop solutions that are both locally relevant and globally aligned. Your input is essential in shaping a more inclusive future for everyone.

Talk with your Chapter and board about who can attend and ensure your region has a voice in the conversation.
July 15, 2026
10:00am–11:00am Central Time (9:00am–10:00am Mountain Time)

The EDI Committee is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience for all attendees. Please contact rrichmond@mpi.org if you have any accessibility needs or require accommodations related to mobility, sensory, visual, auditory, cognitive, or other considerations. We will do our best to support you.
