Bob Moore, 1998-1999 MPI president and recognized this year as one of MPI's "50 Legacy Contributors," highlights, in his own words, the three most significant practices that he appreciated about the association.
As sales leader for Hilton, I felt it important to volunteer my time and energy in the best tourism and hospitality organizations. MPI was and is one such organization. I valued three key elements that MPI stood for and practiced:
1) The balance of one-to-one membership of buyers and sellers,
2) The priority of providing quality education for the meeting industry and
3) The global reach that MPI brought to the meeting industry.
My time as a volunteer at MPI both as a board member and chair were some of the most fun and rewarding days of my 45-year-long career.
