A Word From Our President

By: Patrick Colomer | Mar 5, 2021

colomer, patrickWe are in the home stretch of our 2020-2021 calendar year and look forward to finishing the year strong by continuing to provide our valued members with engaging opportunities to advance their professional goals. This blog edition post is focused on women in leadership, and I hope all of you enjoy the content we have created. In this blog that we will slowly roll out over the coming weeks, you will see a feature where prominent women in the events and hospitality industry offer inspiration and advice for achieving success, alongside thought-provoking articles on leadership language, diversity & inclusion as well as a feature on our legendary Executive Director Kathie Stapleton.

As we begin to warm up from the winter months, I hope you continue to stay active within the chapter. On April 8, we are celebrating Global Meetings Industry Day alongside our friends at New York PCMA, SITE Northeast, and EventFluence. This year’s GMID is more important than ever as we shine a light on what our industry truly means to the U.S. economy. A formal announcement and registration will be forthcoming in the next few weeks, so please stay tuned and be sure to register for this important industry event.

I would also like to highlight our continued commitment to Cycle for Survival. MPI Greater New York has, once again, signed up to participate in this important philanthropic endeavor, and we hope you will join our team. Every single dollar from Cycle for Survival benefits Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. We, as a chapter, raised over $12,000 last year, and we need your help to eclipse that goal once again in 2021. If you have yet to register, please do so on our chapter website or via our social media pages.

Thank you for your continued commitment to this chapter and our industry. Brighter days are ahead for us all, and we could not be more excited about what the future holds!
