Today we come together to celebrate Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) - the international day of advocacy showcasing the undeniable value business meetings, trade shows, incentive travel, exhibitions, conference and conventions bring to people, businesses and communities. 

To honor this day, the Indiana-based chapters of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), the International Live Events Association (ILEA), and Minorities in Hospitality (MIH) are joining together to celebrate, educate, and highlight the work of our industry partners, offering a DEI-focused education and a Networking experience for all attendees.

Education Description

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practitioner, Agile Mindset expert and Women in Tech thought-leader, Angel G. Henry, Amazon best-selling author and award winning author of Dents in the Ceiling: Tools Women and Allies Need to Breakthrough will share a “Sate of Address” regarding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion advancements that have taken place since May 2020. Angel will offer three key actions attendees can incorporate in their daily work to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the meeting industry for Indiana. Upon the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:

  1. Gain tips for cultivating a diverse network
  2. Begin to select their personal Board of Directors and understand why they’re necessary
  3. Define specific, actional and practice steps toward advancing their personal inclusion journey that will have a positive outcome for all the events they plan or are a part of
This session is approved for 1 CEU through the Events Industry Council.
