About EMEC20
EMEC20 will take place in Sevilla, Spain 9-11 February 2020 and it marks the 31st edition of the event.
This year’s theme, Push your boundaries, will build off the success of EMEC19 and carry on the tradition of changing the game.
EMEC20 is building on the bold tradition of MPI’s European conference and will push your boundaries to change the world. Here are some highlights you can share.
The event’s designed for Europeans by Europeans and will be one of the most exciting events MPI’s produced in the European marketplace. 65 Volunteers from across Europe used the #EventCanvas methodology to jointly design the event.
EMEC20 is a place for new ideas to be tested, building on 2019’s success in The Netherlands. Think of it as an incubator for the industry and for MPI’s events. As the biggest industry association in Europe with ties and partnerships that connect to the U.S. and beyond, you may see ideas showing up at places like WEC…and around the world!

500 years ago, Iberian explorers Magellan and Elcano set sail from Sevilla, returning three years later having achieved an astonishing maritime feat—the first circumnavigation of the globe, proving that Earth is round and not flat. An epic journey that made the first intercontinental human, economic, cultural and biological exchanges possible. The compass and astrolabe have been replaced by the GPS and smartphones, but the essence of these early journeys remains intact. It’s the passion for traveling, for exploring other cultures, for sharing experiences on both sides of the ocean.
We invite you to join us this February to gather with fellow European colleagues—and colleagues from around the world—to follow in the footsteps of great explorers to push your boundaries as a meeting and event professional and to design the next generation of astonishing, world-changing events.
