Barry Brantley

Who do you work for and what is your position in the company?

I wear two hats in our industry first, I am Senior Director. Global Accounts for HelmsBriscoe and have been with them for almost 19 years; second, I am Professor and Program Coordinator for the Hospitality Management Program at Delgado Community College and have been with them for almost 14 years.

How long have you been in the hospitality industry?

I have been I the hospitality industry for almost 38 years; the first 20 with hotels including Ritz-Carlton, Omni, Sheraton and Wyndham.

What is your favorite part about your job?

My favorite aspect with serving my clients in HelmsBriscoe is being a part Of their team, My role as an agent includes assisting with their procurement. history management and brainstorming. My favorite role in teaching is the satisfaction Of serving as a consultant to professionals beginning their journey in our industry.

What are some of your favorite restaurants in the city?

I love Shaya. Compere Lapin and Doris Metropolitan.

What are your favorite things to do on the weekend?

I love gardening and travel for fun experiences.

We have Maggie (Scottie), Mae (Westie) and Archie (Westie)

How long have you been with MPI?

I've been a member since 1998 with the Gulf States Chapter and was a member before then with the Michigan Chapter.
