Who are you outside of work?

A Father, a Husband and a Musician

Something people don’t know about you:

My original collegiate major was in Classical Voice/Opera

What is your proudest professional accomplishment to date?

I did the Light Design for a 20 second player introduction video for Super Bowl XLIV. No awards were given on this one, but there’s something surreal in helping to create a visual moment that was part of the most watched telecast in US history at the time. (2010 106.5 million viewers.)

What are some of your favorite things about being an MPI member.

I enjoy coming to our meetings and taking in the wide variety of disciplines that make up our industry. After 25 years of professional work in the industry, it’s still fascinating to me to see how many companies can collaborate with their specific set of expertise to pull off a single one-off event.

When do you plan to go on your next vacation and where do you want to go?

My family and I love to keep to our regular summertime visit to Hilton Head Island.

What is the greatest place you have ever visited?

St. Lucia is lovely this time of year!

Name a silver lining in your own work experience since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Our AV production company was able to identify, create, implement, and support a brand-new revenue stream in the form of Live Event Streaming. Since the pandemic began, we have since perfected this new form of AV production and we continue to offer it as a form of production service or include it as a hybrid option to live events.

Other than improving your Zoom Meeting skills, what have you learned (or learned to excel in professionally) since COVID-19 began?

Ironically enough, in the AV industry, Zoom wasn’t just essential for inter-company meetings, but that platform along with Teams, WebEx, Vimeo, OBS and more became a lifeline to our end of the industry and kept us working in AV production throughout the pandemic. The Zoom meeting skills were certainly needed, but also a fair amount of ingenuity was required to combine our production skills across these streaming platforms to allow our clients to continue to host essential professional quality meetings for their businesses.
