Other than improving your Zoom Meeting skills, what have you learned (or learned to excel in professionally) since COVID-19 began?

To gain a better understanding of contracts and clauses and the many interpretations some of those clauses have.

Who are you outside of work?

Outside of work I have found a love of homesteading, growing a large garden, tending to my chickens and cutting wood that we heat with in the winter!

Name a silver lining in your own work experience since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Working remote was not an option pre covid.  It has now given us an opportunity to work from home but find the importance of working as a team and look for those opportunities to foster a team spirit.  In and out of work.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment to date?

I pride myself with sticking to a budget and coming in under budget when possible.  Working with our vendors and hotel partners through the past two years to host virtual and in person events or rework contracts when needed has been a challenge and an adventure.

What are some of your favorite things about being an MPI member.

Being a member and getting to attend WEC when it was hosted in Indy was a great experience.  I was able to get so many ideas that we were able to institute in our own meetings right away.  Being able to see some great keynote addresses helped me understand the type of leader I wanted to become.

When do you plan to go on your next vacation and where do you want to go?

The past two years has changed the scope of vacations.  I realized there were so many things to explore locally and to take advantage of that we didn’t need to spend hours traveling.  Utilizing long weekends, we like to explore what Indiana and the Midwest has to offer.

What is the greatest place you have ever visited?

A safari to South Africa still ranks at the top of the list.  Seeing the Milky Way with the naked eye and being among the wildlife, makes you think about your role here on earth.

Something people don’t know about you:

I enjoy classic vehicles and love to show and tell about my 1948 Chevy Truck and 1956 Chevy 4 door Sedan!
