Commercial Space Tourism: What does it mean for New Mexico?

It seems we've been talking about commercial space tourism for nearly a decade in New Mexico. What does it really mean? This discussion will cover the amazing things happening at Spaceport America and what is to come in the future. It will also offer the opportunity for attendees to learn more about Virgin Galactic and their impact in the southern New Mexico community and beyond.

After this education session, attendees will be able to:

• Describe commercial space tourism and aerospace industries
• Explain how the hospitality industry can partner with aerospace companies
• Define the Las Cruces Space Festival's origins, planning, and execution
• Explain new tourism developments related to the space industry

Alice Carruth, Public Relations for Spaceport America and Executive Director of the Las Cruces Space Festival, will be presenting. There will also be a Q&A.

Lunch will be provided and a tour of Virgin Galactic's the Gateway to Space shouldn't be missed!

To tour the venue, for security purposes, attendees are required to provide a current driver's license or another form of government-issued ID AND proof of US citizenship (passport, birth certificate). You will have to opportunity to upload these documents during the registration process. To make it easier on you, please plan to upload your documents during the registration process by scanning or taking a picture with your smartphone of your documents PRIOR to starting the registration process. Please note this is not a requirement to complete the registration process but you will not be allowed to tour if documents are not received by MPI New Mexico prior to the program date. Documents are required 48 hours in advance of the tour.

Spaceport America is a State of New Mexico facility. The anchor tenant is Virgin Galactic and this education session will be held on the first floor of the Virgin Galactic hangar. The Virgin Galactic hangar is called the Gateway to Space.
