  20/20 - A Vision for the Future Partnerships of Planners and Suppliers

Join us for Part Two of our planner and supplier 20/20 vision, where our moderator, Mary Fleming of Challenges, Inc. will interview a panel of various subject experts to get clarity and insight on a variety of topics related to planning visionary events. If you missed Part One, no worries! You’ll be able to ask your most burning questions and get first hand advice on how to more effectively work with your planner or supplier counterparts to create events that truly surpass the vision and expectations of your clients. 

After this session, attendees will:

1.     Implement new-found knowledge of their planner or supplier counterpart when creating a project plan for a meeting or event.

2.     Implement tools and techniques to create synergy between planner and supplier when communicating.

3.     Develop evaluation procedures to ensure the goals and objectives of the event are met..

Speakers: 
AndyCampbellAndrew Campbell, CMP, CMM - Director at the University of Florida Office of Professional & Workforce Development

Andy joined the University of Florida in 1999 and has over twenty-five years of conference and special event planning experience.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of South Carolina in 1987 and a Master of Arts in Homeland Security from American Military University in 2012. 

Andy served twenty-seven years in the United States Navy, serving on various ships and shore assignments.  Since 1996, he served in the Coastal Riverine Force providing anti-terrorism force protection for forward deployed ships in the Middle East.  Andy made multiple deployments following the September 11, 2001 attacks and retired as a Captain in 2015.

He earned his Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 2007 and his Certified Meeting Manager (CMM) certification in 2015. Andy is an active member in Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and served as President for the 2014-2016 term with the Central Florida Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP).

Andy has been a diehard Miami Dolphins fan since 1972 and enjoys going to sporting events, traveling, and spending time with family.

LaniMiltonLani Milton, CMP - Account Operations Manager at BCD Meetings & Events

Lani has had the privilege of working for BCD Meetings & Events, a third-party management company for 13 years.  She is an Account Manager for a Global SMM program supporting a market leader in the travel industry.  Prior to this position, Lani was a Team Lead overseeing all Sourcing/contracting and Operations in the US for a dedicated SMM customer. 

Lani has 20+ years of extensive experience in sourcing, negotiating and operational excellence.  Her experience has included working for a CVB, travel association and incentive house, allowing her to become diverse in her skills and travel the world.

Lani attained her CMP certification in 2018 and is proud to sit among some of the best hospitality professionals in the North Florida chapter of MPI.

Lani is married to her college sweetheart whom she met at FSU!  Her nemeses is 6th grade math where she spends countless hours at the kitchen table with her identical twin daughters working on assignments.


Jaya DillardJaya Dillard, CDMP, CGMP, MPA - Sales & Services Manager at St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra CVB

Jaya Dillard is the Sales & Services Manager of the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau, a DMAI accredited organization, where she is responsible for attracting group business to the destination, prospecting to all markets (social, military, educational, reunion, fraternal, corporate and weddings/ special events as well as sports and recreational.

Dillard started her hospitality career as a front desk and night-auditor agent at a Holiday Inn hotel in Daytona Beach. She later joined Celebrity Resorts as the Owner Services Manager overseeing owner accounts. By 2005 Dillard had joined the sales team at Hammock Beach Resort as the Sales Administrator also in Palm Coast. Prior to joining the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra VCB in 2009, Dillard served as the Tourism Coordinator for Flagler County Chamber of Commerce – Tourism Branch where she supported the growth and awareness of Palm Coast and the Beaches tourism efforts. During Jaya’s tenure at Flagler Chamber through 2006-2009 Palm Coast was recognized as one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.

PB 2Patrick Brochu - Director of Show Services at Media Stage

Patrick is the Director of Show Services at Media Stage, an international production company. A true showman, he has been working in the Meetings and Events industry for 10+ Year’s. Like many in this industry he “fell into it” after graduating with a B.A. in Theatrical Design, and a minor in Art History. Patrick designs experiences through stage sets that interact with the latest technology to “wow” and inspire audiences.

Within his extensive portfolio he has created General Session experiences for top brands like, Dell Computers, H&M, Kohler, Virgin America, Transitions Lenses, Phillip Morris and illy Coffee.

Patrick is the Current President of MPI’s South Florida Chapter, and the very proud father of identical twins. 


JenniferJenkinsJennifer Jenkins - Director of Sales, The Collector Luxury Inn & Gardens

Jennifer Jenkins brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience to her role as Director of Sales at The Collector Luxury Inn & Gardens, the first upscale accommodation of its kind in St. Augustine, and Hotel Simone, a newly built boutique retreat in St. Simons Island, Georgia. She is responsible for developing client relationships with local vendors and incoming groups, creating strategic marketing plans and determining appropriate sales strategies to maximize revenue at the two luxury properties.

A golf enthusiast from an early age, Jennifer earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management from Indiana University Bloomington, with the intention of pursuing a career with golf resorts. After accepting the position as Sales Coordinator for Austin Marriott at the Capitol, her professional aspirations shifted to a career in hospitality sales. Subsequent positions as the Citywide Sales Manager for Marriott properties in Austin, Director of Operations for the Courtyard Austin Airport and the Assistant General Manager for Courtyard by Marriott Austin South. After moving to St. Augustine she accepted a position as a Sales and Catering Manager for Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and continued to foster her passion in the field, where she developed a propensity for identifying new ways to maximize hotel revenue and exceed client, guest and business expectations. Prior to her role at The Collector Luxury Inn & Gardens and Hotel Simone, Jennifer stepped out of the traditional hospitality realm for three years, serving as director of children’s ministry in Hilton Head, South Carolina. She credits these diverse experiences with imparting a deeper understanding of business, while teaching her the importance of building organic relationships both in and out of the office.

When Jennifer isn’t busy meeting with guests or driving sales at The Collector and Hotel Simone, she can be found spending time in the Florida sunshine, swimming, boating, golfing and enjoying the outdoors with her family and friends.

Mary Fleming is founder and principal owner of Challenges, Inc., which is an experientially based team building company headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Mary began her career in experiential education in 1985 as a ROPES course facilitator and trainer.  She founded Challenges, Inc. in 1991 to specialize in corporate activity based training and development.

Mary has developed and facilitated hundreds of team programs for companies throughout the United States. She has had the privilege of working with organizations such as McKesson Medical, GE Capital, Siemens, Bank of America, the Dallas Cowboys, Dell Computer and TIAA Bank.

She is an experienced corporate facilitator with a talent for seeing the big picture, pinpointing organizational objectives and drawing parallels between training and work issues. Through 30 plus years of experience Mary has created an expansive repertoire of activities to draw from when designing programs that will enhance teambuilding, leadership, and communication within groups.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, cancellation must be done 24 hours or more prior to the event date. If cancellation is not received 24 hours prior all payments will be forfeited and cannot be applied towards a future event.

Meeting Attendance Policy: Non-members and Essential level members are welcome to register at the non-member rate only two times during the fiscal year.
