Designing Events Where Everyone Belongs

The MPI Northern California Chapter is committed to fostering a community where all meeting and event professionals feel welcomed, respected, represented, and empowered to succeed.

Through education, resources, and meaningful dialogue, we strive to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) throughout our chapter and across the meetings and events industry.

Mission & Vision

Mission

The MPI Northern California Chapter champions diversity as strength, equity as empowerment, inclusion as connection, and accessibility as belonging. We act with intention and provide education to ensure our programs, leadership, and community reflect the richness of our members so everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Vision
We envision an events industry that is boldly inclusive, authentically representative, and globally accessible. By celebrating differences and driving equity, MPI Northern California Chapter will help shape experiences that transform communities and inspire lasting change.

Why it Matters

Inclusive events create stronger engagement, deeper connections, and more meaningful attendee experiences.
When people feel welcomed, represented, and able to fully participate, events become more impactful for everyone involved.

Benefits of Inclusive Event Design

  • Stronger attendee engagement and participation
  • More meaningful networking and relationship building
  • Broader reach across audiences and communities
  • Improved accessibility and attendee experience
  • Greater innovation through diverse perspectives
  • Reduced risk related to accessibility and representation gaps
