Hello MPI, Texas Hill Country Chapter!
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate, reflect, and recommit. It’s an
opportunity to recognize the Black trailblazers—past and present—whose leadership, innovation, and influence have helped shape our communities, our workplaces, and the meetings and events industry. Their impact is woven into the way we gather, the experiences we create, and the standards we continue to raise.
Black History Month is also a reminder that inclusion doesn’t happen by accident—it happens through intention. I encourage each of us to look for meaningful ways to engage; attend a local program, read and share stories that broaden perspective, amplify the voices of Black colleagues and thought leaders, and consider ways we can support Black-owned businesses and partners in our work. Small actions add up, and our chapter is strongest when everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported.
And speaking of community—MPI World Education Congress (WEC) is coming to San Antonio, and this is a huge opportunity for our Texas Hill Country Chapter community. With WEC in our backyard, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of world-class education, incredible networking, and fresh ideas you can bring right back to your organization—and to our chapter.
Whether you’re a long-time member or newer to MPI, WEC is one of those moments that can reignite your creativity, expand your network, and remind you why this community is so valuable.
A wise man said earlier this month, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” I
believe that and I hope you do too.
