President's Corner - November 2025

By: Donna Harbers, CMP | Nov 20, 2025

Gratitude is the obvious thing to write about this time of year, and I’ve been struggling to come up with something unique. Alas, this column is past-due. Just sit down and start typing, Donna. See where it lands, I tell myself.

I try very hard to live a grateful life every day, but like everyone I struggle sometimes – especially at the holidays. Missing my family while others are posting so many joyful moments with theirs on social media makes it difficult to keep gratefulness and joy in my heart.

Two weeks ago, we had reached the “less hot” season here in the good ole Hill Country, and I finally got to wear a sweater that I knit. I was so excited! Crocheting and knitting is a huge part of my self-care, and I LOVE wearing my yarn. I snapped a selfie and considered posting it on social media. All I could see in the picture was the dirty mirror, junky counter in the background, and my bare feet.

But still! I had to share my joy! I texted a group of friends that I knew would celebrate my authentic joy. I knew they would see the sweater and not focus on the dirty mirror and clutter. I asked their permission to share moments of joy with them, and none of them opted out of the group text.

Those women. Those friends. I am deeply grateful for them, and the energy and confidence that they bring to my life.

If you have moments like I do sometimes when it’s hard to see the light, I hope you have people in your life that help you find it. Reach out to me if you’d like. I’d be happy to help you find your light.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.
