In-person conferences are magical. Spending time learning and networking with people who truly understand the unique challenges of the job I do fills my professional cup unlike anything else.
For event planners, the opportunity to gather in-person with each other is crucial. Our job is consistently ranked in the top five of most stressful jobs, and unless you do the job, you don’t really understand why event planning is right next to police officer and firefighter on the stress scale.
Registration for the Texas Education Conference (TEC25), co-hosted by the MPI Texas Hill Country Chapter and the Houston Area Chapter (HAC), is open, and I love the theme and tagline the committee has chosen this year –It’s 5:00 O'clock Everywhere: Elevating Events Around the Clock. Because somewhere, someone is always connecting, creating, and celebrating.
I hope you’ll make plans to join us at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Conroe on November 12-14, 2025. You deserve to experience the magic of in-person conferences from the attendee perspective.
To wrap this up, let’s give the TEC planning committee a special shout-out -- because if planning events for people who don’t understand what we do is stressful, then planning an event for people who understand and notice every detail and who are naturally critical of events AND planning that event as volunteers? Well, they deserve some thanks and appreciation.
