Session Description
"Trending Event Technology"
Learn more about the opportunities that new technologies bring to the meeting industry at this lunch and learn education event. Hear from an industry professional who's worked both the client and vendor side and can address all areas of focus for today’s modern meeting needs. The panel will focus on experiences and real-world execution in multiple event environment types, such as SXSW and traditional conferences. The discussion will explore technology trends in revenue drivers, data capture, interactive software, RFID, touch screen hardware, operations, and implementation resources. This session will include an interactive technology demonstration for the audience.

Dax Patton
Dax Patton is a dual graduate of Texas Tech University, Startup co-founder, marketer, salesman, technologist, President of Ad 2 Austin, and a Business Development Manager at South By Southwest Conference & Festivals. He has a passion and strong understanding of business processes/development, technology and sales across a vast array of industries. His post-college career began at a leading staffing agency where he learned the importance of solid hiring processes.
After corporate life, Dax spent 5 years building marketing and sales for Digital Touch Systems, Inc. (DTS) in Austin, TX. DTS is a touch screen manufacturer and software development company with a focus on Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) initiatives.
Dax has worked with a broad range of client companies including Microsoft, Samsung, PMK BNC, IBM, Thermo Fisher, GSD&M, Pernod Ricard, Bar Rescue, Mazda, Compass Group USA, Prudential, Hitachi, Google, Facebook, and many more.
Dax has worked with cutting edge solutions such as detection technologies that allow customers to utilize cameras as intelligent sensors. Through the use of a facial detection SDK Dax had the opportunity to provide IBM’s Watson with vision for the first time.
Dax enjoys reading up on the latest tech trends, spending time outdoors (away from tech), and traveling the world with friends, family, his dog, and girlfriend (not in that order).
