Session Description

"Wine and Cheese Pairings"
Featuring James Korrodi

James bio picFour cheeses paired with four wines.  James Korrodi, Certified Master Court Sommelier will us through a wine and the pairing of cheese.  While no guidelines are exact, some general flavor blends are surefire hits. Once you master the basic ideas of wine and cheese tastings, get as experimental as you wish. With good cheese and delicious wine, no combination can be a true disaster.
Speaker: James Korrodi Someone once said, “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life”. I have been lucky enough to be successful in an industry that I love. My journey in the wine and food business started at a young age. The son of a European chef, I grew up cooking in the French kitchen of our family restaurant. When I moved to Austin 20 years ago it was a very different city with a very different food scene. I decided to make a career out of what I had known all my life and jumped in with no backup plan what so ever. I got my first job as a part time wine steward at the ripe age of 22, and I have never looked back! I spent the next 18 years honing my craft in various jobs. I have worked as a wine steward, beverage director, wine retailer, wine wholesaler and now a sales manager for a family owned wine importer and producer. Although I have various certifications from the Master Court of Sommeliers, Society of Wine educators, and Wine and Spirits Education Trust, I still believe a cold Lone Star and a barbacoa taco is one of the finest pairings of all time.
