See it, Say it - Raising Awareness to End Human Trafficking.
Human Trafficking is a multibillion-dollar criminal industry that denies freedom to 24.9 million people. It is the second largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world - second to drug trafficking.
Human Trafficking occurs in many settings all over the world - and that includes YOUR town. As meeting and hospitality professionals, it is our responsibility to take notice and respond in an informed and effective way.
Join fellow MPI UNY chapter members in person or online as we hear from representatives on the front line of this fight in our communities and from MPI Global for the global picture of Human Trafficking in our industry.
At this program, we will:
- hear from a representative from WellSpring - a domestic violence and sexual assault resource from Saratoga County - who is on the front lines of this battle on how to recognize the signs of abuse that could be an indication of a trafficking victim.
- learn about local resources available to victims
- hear from a representative from MPI’s Anti Human Trafficking Committee on how they are raising awareness in the meetings industry from a global perspective
- learn how we can identify a victim and the next steps to be taken to help
- learn about ways YOU can take action
The time to act is NOW and as an added bonus, a portion of your registration fee will be donated to WellSpring.
Afterwards, unwind from this discussion over a cocktail with your fellow industry leaders as we host our Board Installation. We'll celebrate Outgoing President, Sam Toscano, and the 2021-2022 Board and welcome Incoming President, Wendy O'Duffy, and the 2022-2023 Board.
