Since COVID, we’ve gotten away from the experience part of learning, where attendees are applying practical, in-the-moment things in the room but doing so with vibrancy and energy,” Mitchem says.
My conversation with Mitchem is part of our learning theme, and he shares insights on the importance of relevance, breaking down barriers and bringing energy to the room.
Continuing our learning theme, meeting industry veteran and entrepreneur Eric Rozenberg tells us that even before the rise of AI, if you were not constantly learning, you were slowly becoming obsolete and losing competitiveness.
“Today, unless you have been hibernating for the past few years, you know that we all need to learn completely new ways to live and do business,” he says. “It’s exciting, its increasing productivity and it can be overwhelming. The bottom line is this: If our calendar reflects our priorities, it must show some hours dedicated to learning every week.”
But the learning theme doesn’t stop with this magazine. In the latest of MPItv video, we focus on outdated perceptions about learning styles, the best practices of neurodivergent learners and how to create optimal learning environments for everyone.
And on the next EVENTalks podcast—live later this month—Tahira Endean and Rachel Bandarenko discuss current and near-future best practices for fostering optimal learning environments at meetings and events and the important role of self-awareness.
I leave with you the words of American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter B.B. King:
“The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you.”
