Celebrating MPI community and growth at IBTM Americas

IBTM Americas brought meeting professionals together for two days of inspiration at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City in August.

IBTM Americas brought meeting professionals together for two days of inspiration at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City in August.

MPI played a key role in education and the hosted buyer program thanks to the efforts of the MPI Bajio Mexicano, MPI Caribe Mexicano and MPI Mexico chapters. For the second time, MPI also had a dedicated education stage for keynote sessions. Alfonso Ibarra, president of the MPI Mexico Chapter and CEO of Wondrus Meeting Planner, says interviews with MPI members were key to developing the 2024 education program.

"We did several interviews with our members in order to know their needs and we built a strong educational program with four different kinds of speakers according to those needs," he says, noting that this year activities were held at the MPI booth throughout IBTM Americas in order to attract attention and get people asking questions about MPI. A personal highlight for Ibarra was the traditional toast to the success of MPI at IBTM Americas, which featured leaders from chapters throughout Mexico and Latin America.
