Industry Legacy

Our goal: Be focused and present

American Express GBT Meetings & Events promises a wellness-infused experience for participants of its Las Vegas conference.

By Blair Potter

Create an environment where employees and business partners can take a moment to focus on themselves. That’s the intention of American Express GBT Meetings & Events when it brings its annual Global Employee Meeting and Business Partner Showcase, INTER[action], to CAESARS FORUM this year.

"While this event is focused on relationship building and driving employee engagement with our business partners, we really wanted to build in time for everyone to take time to re-center, release stress, increase endorphin levels and prioritize their wellbeing," says John Palmisano, senior manager, AMEX GBT Meetings & Events for American Express Global Business Travel. "When individuals can achieve this sense of wellness, even for a moment in time, it can positively affect the outcomes of the event. And we will look to tap into Caesars Entertainment’s wellness learnings to provide optimal opportunities for our attendees."

Amex wants attendees to feel relaxed, energized, present and self-aware, he says.

"We hope we can infuse this year’s event with more activations which can be snack-size opportunities for wellness," Palmisano says. "When we infuse the event with well-timed and strategically placed activations, our attendees will be focused and present and achieve a sense of calmness."

INTER[action] is expected to attract more than 1,000 attendees—approximately 550 Amex employees and 500 business partners—who will learn about operations, sales opportunities and how to collectively win business together.

"We are excited to partner with Caesars Entertainment, which will have the opportunity to showcase the destination to meeting planners, sourcing managers and air specialists from around the globe," Palmisano says. "AMEX GBT Meetings & Events has 40+ years of experience with a presence in over 140+ countries and is responsible for more than $4.1 billion managed global events spend and 68,000 experiential events, meetings and incentives annually."

An event such as INTER[action] presents an opportunity to showcase a city and drive incremental business, he says.

"Past host cities have experienced a significant growth in the months leading up to the event based on a year-long marketing effort and following the actual event once the staff experiences the city," Palmisano says. "A past host city received more leads in the first quarter following the event than the entire year prior."

CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT SPOTLIGHT: RENO-TAHOE

A full-property renovation and rebrand will debut at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino in winter 2025. With the magnificent Sierra Nevada Mountains as its backdrop, Harvey’s Lake Tahoe wows meeting planners and attendees alike. Discover additional accommodations, celeb-chef restaurants and entertainment outlets conveniently located at sister property, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

"At Caesars, we are ever evolving to the benefit or our clients and their stakeholders," says Kelly Gleeson Smith, vice president of sales, Caesars Entertainment National Meetings & Events. "Staying on trend is evident with our complete renovation at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe. Now we will offer this opportunity against the backdrop of the strikingly beautiful Tahoe region."

CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT SPOTLIGHT: PARIS LAS VEGAS

The new Versailles Tower and pedestrian bridge were recently added to Paris Las Vegas, which offers 3,667 guest rooms (756 rooms in the new Versailles Tower, including 38 balcony rooms). Huge guest rooms offer sweeping views of the Las Vegas Strip, and the new pedestrian bridge easily connects guests to all things Paris Las Vegas, including world-class dining and more than 150,000 square feet of meeting space.

"The addition of the pedestrian bridge expands the convenience for attendees and planners to access the meeting space and registration areas at both the world-class Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas," Gleeson Smith says.

CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT SPOTLIGHT: ATLANTIC CITY

Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City, N.J., resorts feature 6,129 guest rooms and 275,000 square feet of meeting space, and property updates will be completed this year. The updated and refreshed inventory includes celebrity-chef dining, ocean side experiences, exceptional operations teams and dynamic meeting space offerings for the discerning meeting planner.

"Atlantic City has a rich history and an exciting future ahead, and Caesars Entertainment is proud to be part of this," says Steve Van Der Molen, vice president meeting operations - AC region for Caesars Entertainment. "With three beautiful resorts—Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and Tropicana Atlantic City—we provide meeting planners an unparalleled experience on the Atlantic Ocean."

CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT SPOTLIGHT: NEW ORLEANS

Caesars New Orleans features 790 guest rooms and suites (two towers) and 20,932 square feet of meeting space. Offering magnificent meeting experiences in a AAA Four Diamond hotel in the heart of America’s most festive city. Minutes from the Caesars Super dome and steps from celeb-chef restaurants, the venue offers dynamic meeting spaces infused with historic charm that only New Orleans can deliver.

"We are beyond excited to introduce Caesars New Orleans," Gleeson Smith says. "We take great pride in our 20-year history in New Orleans, and this reinvestment is a testament to our continued commitment to this historic city and all the richness of offerings it provides our industry."
