MPI Official Statement Re: Recent Tragedies

MPI-Logo2

We are deeply saddened by the recent tragedies in Gilroy, California, El Paso, Texas; and Dayton, Ohio. Our hearts go out to the victims and families of these horrible acts.

As an industry focused on bringing people together, we understand the positive power of tourism and the creation of personal connections. We believe that the words Mark Twain wrote so many years ago still resonate today; “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”  Diversity and inclusivity are at the core of MPI and our robust and diverse community, so we are committed to making the world a better place through face to face experiences.

With the continued engagement of our community, and the passion and involvement of our volunteers, we know now is the time to unite stronger than ever. Because when we meet, we change the world.

Sincerely,

Paul Van Deventer
CEO, Meeting Professionals International
