“How can we create immersive, engaging and wellness-centric experiences that prioritize the wellbeing of attendees keeping in mind the end client’s event goals and themes?”
Sales Manager Attila Laszlo says the team at the MONDORF Domaine Thermal in Luxembourg started to ask that question more than 15 years ago and created a working group to find ways to include healthcare and wellness elements in their services.

This led to the creation of Fit & Relax Workshops, through which clients can choose between tai-chi or Nordic walking sessions, have an initiation into the holistic world of sophrology or learn tips from the nutritionist team.
Laszlo, who is also immediate past president of the MPI Belgium-Luxembourg Chapter, will be sharing some his wellness knowledge at MPI’s European Meetings & Events Conference (EMEC), 22-25 February in Istanbul, during his session, “Anti-Stress Workshop to Understand the Meaning of Wellness in Meetings.”
We spoke with him about integrating wellness into events and a success story experienced through the Fit & Relax Workshops.
Can you offer a simple tip for integrating a wellness component into an event?
Depending on the number of attendees you can set up parallel workshops offering different approaches to well-being. A 30-minute session can help kick off the day offering relaxation and concentration at the same time.
Can you tell us how wellness initiatives can actually help planners achieve their overall event goals?
Elevate attendees’ well-being through the integration of wellness elements. Planners can create cohesion and at the same time more active participation in the event. Participants can earn this special feeling to be more energized and engaged.
Can you share a success story from your Fit & Relax Workshops?
Following our advice, a planner proposed a tai chi session to all attendees outdoors before starting the meetings. At first, only a few persons willingly participated, but by the end of the workshop, no one wanted to leave it. Our fitness instructor managed to create a real fusion in just 30 minutes and several participants signed up for his weekly classes.
What do you hope EMEC attendees will take away from your session?
Awaken curiosity and the desire to integrate wellness elements when organizing events. It is not necessary to transform the entire event by holistic gurus but rather to create simple moments that matter. We all need to be mentally open and receptive to the different educational sessions and networking opportunities offered at events like EMEC.
