Filiz Akdede believes using AI tools for analysis, automation and audience engagement insights is critically important for meeting planners who want to stay informed of the latest trends impacting their events.
“Adopt an innovation mindset and experiment with content creation, smart networking tools and data-driven decision-making,” says Filiz Akdede, who will be presenting the plenary session “Mega Trends & the Future of Work,” during MPI’s European Meetings & Events Conference (EMEC), 22-25 February in Istanbul.
Akdede, the global VP of HP 3D Business who has been named one of “Türkiye’s Most Effective Women Leaders,” will help EMEC attendees discover how transformative factors will redefine the event planning industry and workforce management and leverage new opportunities to lead their organizations and peers into the future of work.
We spoke with her about optimizing AI tools and the current and future role of Gen Alpha.
Can you tell us about a technology trend that meeting professionals should be paying more attention to?
We are all experiencing huge amounts of change. In order to deal with change, meeting professionals should be focusing on Mega Trends first and monitoring the changes in their own industry. AI-driven personalization and data analytics are transforming the events industry. AI-powered platforms optimize registration, content recommendations and real-time analytics, improving attendee engagement and event efficiency. Virtual and hybrid event technologies are also shaping the future of event management.
Can you share an example of Gen Alpha's role in the current business environment?
Gen Alpha is the first AI-native generation. Their demand for purpose-driven careers, sustainability and technological innovation is reshaping workplace strategies. Companies need to adapt their structure according to the needs of Gen Alpha. This generation will be the employees and employers of the companies as well as consumers of the future.
What do you hope attendees take away from your session?
I want attendees to gain a forward-looking approach to emerging trends and understand how AI, 3D innovations and Mega Trends are reshaping the industry. More importantly, I want them to walk away with practical strategies they can apply, whether in personalized experiences, workforce transformation or sustainable event planning.
